Why this tool is useful
Medium Blue (#0000CD) is a deep pure blue just short of maximum saturation that tests your display blue primary at high depth. Night sky astrophotographers and deep-water marine photographers use medium blue as a tone reference to calibrate their monitor for accurate deep blue rendering before processing ocean trench or night sky imagery. If medium blue appears as flat black without a visible blue hue, shadow-blue rendering on your display is insufficient.
