Why this tool is useful
Cornsilk (#FFF8DC) is a very pale warm yellow barely distinguishable from white except in careful comparison. It tests your monitor ability to render subtle warm-white gradients, which is critical for wedding and newborn photographers who work with creamy whites in soft-light conditions. If cornsilk appears completely white on your panel, your monitor near-white rendering is too compressed and subtle tonal variations will be lost in editing.
