How to use Backlight Bleed
Click the "Enter Fullscreen" button above or press F11.
Your screen will be filled with the selected color.
Check for any discoloration, backlight bleed, or dead pixels.
Press the Escape key to exit fullscreen when finished.

Why this tool is useful
Backlight bleed is a manufacturing defect in LCD panels where light from the backlight array leaks around the edges of the screen, appearing as visible glowing patches when the display should show black or very dark content. This tool lets you identify bleed zones by rendering a uniform dark field that makes any light leakage immediately visible. For most accurate results, dim your room lights completely, wait 30 seconds for your eyes to adjust, then enter fullscreen. Edge bleed along the top and bottom is extremely common and generally acceptable. Severe corner glow or large bleed patches near the center indicate a higher-severity defect that may warrant a warranty claim.
